The future is here! Some of the young faculty members(Ben Merkle and Nathan Wilson) at New St. Andrews College have joined us in the blogging world. These blogs come from the best and brightest; this is the kind of quality blogsmanship the rest of us can only dream about. If you've been searching for a snippet of postmillenial glory in HTML form, look no further.
Posted by at October 6, 2003 12:49 AMMan, what is with that quirky-evasive writing style that seems to come out of Moscow? These guys write like they are the love child of Dave Barrey and C.S. Lewis. Just say what you want to say and be done with it! Shoot straight for once in your life! Am I the only person that has picked up on that style or am I off base here?
Posted by: Patrick at October 6, 2003 09:00 AMI'm sure it's your imagination!
Posted by: Ed at October 7, 2003 12:54 AMNo It's really not. Their just weird up there man.
Posted by: The Groovy Shroom at October 7, 2003 12:49 PMI'll give an example of what I'm talking about.
Statement:
Let your yeas be yea and your nays be nay.
Statement in Quirky-Evasive Style:
My yeas are yea. Really, they are. Just listen. Yea. See? That was a yea. I even tried to make it come out as non-yea, but it was a full fledged yea. If you are in a crowd and they are all chanting "yea" and you are chanting "In hoc signo vinces" or "John Wayne on Mt. Parthenon", I am going to snicker. Probably other people will snicker with me. I will turn to my companion, who is much wittier than me, and wink knowingly. I am good at that. I know what he is thinking you see. We are both thinking the same thing; "That person needs to work on their yeas"
Patrick,
Maybe (from that last quote) you could sub Jack Handy for Dave Barry, No?
I still think it must just be you.
Ed
Posted by: Ed at October 11, 2003 01:00 AMJack Handy!!? I don't know about that, but if I had to Triangulate these guys I would probably say they were
1 Part "Comic Book Store Guy" from the Simpsons
1 Part Don Rickles
1 Part "Goose" from Top Gun
Perfect.
